Specialties: psychological/forensic evaluation, individual and group therapy Populations: adults, adolescents, general mental health and forensic clients. Member of APA and is a DVOMB approved treatment provider.

Coni Sanders, LPC – Owner, President DV Program Director, Therapist

Co-owner of PFA since 2008. She graduated from University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Clinical Psychology. She graduated with honors from Regis University with a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Counseling with a minor in the Psychology of Violence. She is also a DVOMB approved provider. She speaks nationally on High Profile Grieving in addition to working at the Colorado State Mental Institute. Coni has true compassion for her work and has proven that she holds a strong commitment to her clients and their ability to create positive change in their lives. Coni is also a Certified First Responder Counselor.

Stephanie Barnett, MA, LPC, LAC – Therapist

Stephanie graduated with her Masters of Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University in 2016. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas A&M University in 2008. She became a Licensed Addiction Counselor in 2018 and a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2019. She is an approved DVOMB Entry Level Provider for both male and female clients. Stephanie's clinical experience has consisted of working with offenders in correctional settings as well as within outpatient services. She also has a private practice that specializes in addiction. Her approach to therapy is one of empathy and belief that individuals are capable of change through challenging their thoughts and emotions that control their actions.

J. Michelle Pierce MA LPC ACC - Cognitive Behavioral Specialist and Substance Abuse Therapist

 Michelle has been practicing as a substance abuse therapist for the past 13 years. She graduated with her Masters in Counseling from Regis University in 2016, along with a post graduate certification in play therapy for adults and adolescence. She graduated with her bachelor's degree in Human Services Addiction Studies in 2005, from Metropolitan State University. She obtained her Certified Addiction Counselor III (CACIII) in 2007. She has extensive experience working with high risk populations in various settings. She has worked with offenders in a correctional setting and outpatient setting, sex offenders, adolescence in a school setting, couples and parents. As a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT) Michelle has a passion for helping others develop a balance between thoughts and emotions to prevent problematic or unwanted behaviors. She holds space for her clients to allow them to grow with guidance.

David Perry, MA, LPC, LAC – Therapist

David is a casual and warm therapist, focused on developing relationships as a tool for breaking out of old bad patterns. He has worked (individually and in groups) for over six years with clients struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues, focusing on client strengths and resources. David served long ago in the Air Force, and graduated with his Masters in Community Counseling from Regis University in 2013. He became a Licensed Addiction Counselor in 2015 and a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2016. David also has a private practice focused on the difficulties of being stuck and the ways we sometimes cope. He is also provocative, using humor to facilitate change.

Miranda Ressler, BA, NLC, Office Manager, Registered Psychotherapist

Miranda graduated with honors from Kent State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 2017. After graduation, she began counseling underprivileged young adults. In 2020, she became a Registered Psychotherapist to continue her work helping others. She helps to provide growth and improvement through therapy in order to reach the client’s mental health and healing goals.

Jeri Steppat, CAS, MFTC, LPCC, MC, ACC- Therapist

​Jeri graduated with honors earning her Masters degree in Community Counseling from the University of Phoenix in 2006. She earned her certification in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2020. Jeri is also a Certified Addiction Specialist. Most recently, Jeri was a Family Therapist at an inpatient substance abuse treatment center in Denver. She has additional training and experience in EMDR and Sand Tray. Jeri has a significant skillset allowing her to provide many supportive services.  Jeri has great passion for her work and believes that all clients have the ability to heal and grow to live their best life.

Katy Thompson, MA, LPC, LAC

Katy graduated with her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2019 from Regis University, and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2002. Prior to becoming a therapist, Katy worked as a nutritionist. She expects to complete both her Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addiction Counselor credentials in January 2022 and has worked in the addictions field for the past four years. She views the therapeutic relationship as a key component to healing. Her approach is from existential and attachment lenses, using tools from motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based approaches.

Paul Stehling

Paul is a compassionate and caring counselor who wants to help clients discover their own strengths for growth and healing. Paul treats clients with respect, authenticity, and sincerity to meet them where they are at.  His approach to therapy is mostly person-centered and existentialist. Paul believes that people’s true nature can “win out” when they cultivate their life’s purpose and embrace change.  Paul is an anti-racist counselor with clinical experience consisting of substance use and addiction treatment, assertive community treatment, adventure therapy, group therapy, and direct support with adolescents and adults with varying emotional, developmental and intellectual needs. Paul is a certified Remo Health Rhythms facilitator and uses music and creative writing to enrich the lives of others.  Paul has a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lenoir Rhyne University.  Paul graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Appalachian State University in August 2018. He is an Addiction Counselor Candidate, a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate, LPCC by the state of Colorado and a National Certified Counselor NCC.

Malory Mendoza, MS, LPCC

​Malory has experience working with adults suffering from mood, anxiety, and personality disorders, as well as anger, emotional regulation issues, and ADHD. Through a trauma-informed lens and a strengths-based approach, she customizes her therapeutic approach to cater to the specific needs of each individual. She views healing as a collaborative journey, involving genuine care and support without judgment. Malory has a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Massachusetts Boston and she is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate.

Natalie Parker

​Natalie graduated with a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Denver. She has experience working with substance abuse and has a passion for helping others overcome struggles associated with eating disorders, self-esteem, body image, and addiction. She hopes to help people improve their relationship with themselves, their bodies, and the world around them.  As a clinician, Natalie utilizes empathy, connection, humor, and curiosity to connect with clients on a genuine, human level. She works to create an accessible therapy experience by operating from a trauma-informed and multicultural lens.
