Coni Sanders, LPC, President, DV Program Director, Therapist
Coni has been a part of PFA since 2007, starting as an intern and now sole owner. She graduated with honors from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Clinical Psychology. She graduated with honors from Regis University with a bachelor’s degree in clinical counseling with a minor in the Psychology of Violence. Coni is a fully approve DVOMB treatment provider, approved to treat both male and female clients. She speaks nationally on High Profile Grieving in addition to working at the Colorado State Mental Institute for 10 years. Coni has true compassion for her work and has proven that she holds a strong commitment to her clients and their ability to create positive change in their lives. Coni is also a Certified First Responder Counselor.

Michelle graduated with her master’s in counseling from Regis University in 2016, along with a post graduate certification in play therapy for adults and adolescence. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in human services Addiction Studies in 2005, from Metropolitan State University. She obtained her Certified Addiction Counselor III (CACIII) in 2007. She has extensive experience working with high-risk populations in various settings. She has worked with offenders in a correctional setting and outpatient setting, sex offenders, adolescence in a school setting, couples and parents. As a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT) Michelle has a passion for helping others develop a balance between thoughts and emotions to prevent problematic or unwanted behaviors.

Katy graduated with her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2019 from Regis University, and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2002. Prior to becoming a therapist, Katy worked as a nutritionist. She has worked in the addictions field for the past four years. She views the therapeutic relationship as a key component to healing. Her approach is from existential and attachment lenses, using tools from motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based approaches.

Malory has experience working with adults suffering from mood, anxiety, and personality disorders, as well as anger, emotional regulation issues, and ADHD. Stephen Keeper-Merritt, CAS
Stephen is a Colorado Certified Addictions Specialist and has a passion for individuals struggling with addiction. He has worked with individuals in residential treatment, sober living homes, outpatient facilities, forensics, county jail, court mandated facilities/classes, and Colorado Mental Health Hospital. Stephen graduated with honors from Metropolitan State University of Denver earning his bachelor's degree in psychology. He is a MSU Denver Healthcare scholar and alumni. While attending the University, he took additional classes outside of the University to become a Certified Addictions Specialist and obtained 4,500 hours of experience working with individuals struggling with addiction. He is currently in the process of wrapping up his Masters of Psychopharmacology degree which will assist him in better understanding the effects of medications/drugs on the brain and vital bodily organs.

Jeff received a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from CU Denver in the Fall of 2023, and immediately came to work with the PFA team, following a year of internship. Jeff brings compassion and empathy to therapy in order to establish a relationship built on trust and transparency with his clients. He works with clients to build awareness of their needs and emotional states, and to understand how those emotions can influence behavior and our ability to connect with others. In 2013, Jeff earned a BA in Psychology from the University of Colorado, Denver. Graduating at the top of his class, he received the 2013 Nell Fahrion award for excellence in Psychology. Jeff spent several years working as a Parent Support Specialist with the Jefferson County Fatherhood/Parenthood Program and, most recently, he worked for the Colorado Department of Human Services as the Fatherhood Program Administrator. Jeff thoroughly enjoys working with parents, and he loves working with groups.

She is currently a student at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, pursuing an M.A in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
